I have a Master's Degree in Counselling Psychology and I am a member of BC Association of Clinical Counsellor.  I have worked with non-profit agencies and my private practice in Metro Vancouver.  My therapeutic approach has been influenced by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Respond-based practices, Narrative Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

My counselling style is affirming, and non-judgmental, respecting you where you are and considering you as a whole person—emotional, cognitive, physical, social and spiritual.  During a counselling session, I listen attentively, reflect on your experience, and offer practical tools to help you develop positive coping strategies and deepen your awareness of thought patterns that do and do not promote change and transformation.

I work collaboratively with you to help you find solutions to your challenges by drawing on your strengths.  I believe that each person brings to the counselling session their unique skills and abilities to find the resolutions for their concerns.  As a therapist, my role is to work collaboratively with you to facilitate the change process by drawing on my training in psychotherapy to tap into your inner strengths to help you achieve your goals.

Feelings of worth can flourish only in an atmosphere where individual differences are appreciated, mistakes are tolerated, communication is open, and rules are flexible – the kind of atmosphere that is found in a nurturing family.
